IT Systems Engineer

Position Overview

This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, and supporting business-critical applications.

The successful candidate must be flexible and prepared to work irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to support project schedules and system maintenance.

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft-based servers, systems, and applications.
• Administer and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance and availability issues.
• Manage system upgrades, patching, and security hardening.
• Participate in IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and minimal downtime.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, including incident response and root cause analysis.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MSSQL administration.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and system security best practices.
• Experience in virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work irregular hours due to project or operational requirements.

• Experience in cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and documentation practices.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) to automate routine tasks.

• System Uptime & Availability – Maintain high system availability (e.g., >99.9%).
• Incident Resolution – Timely response and resolution of IT incidents.
• Database Performance – MSSQL performance and optimization standards met.
• Project Delivery – On-time and quality completion of IT infrastructure projects.
• Compliance & Security – Adherence to IT policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing – Up-to-date documentation and handover of technical processes.
