Main Duties and Responsibilities

Academic matters
  • Provide outstanding academic leadership
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and set assessment and learning activities.
  • Conduct administration duties
  • Review and ensure the quality of all examination papers
  • Conduct objective assessments on examination appeal cases.
Curriculum Quality
  • Periodically review and develop programmes
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate teaching materials
  • Improve the management of administrative resources
  • Contribute to the development of partnerships with national and international academic and non-academic organisations, government and commercial sector.
  • Ensure academic documentations are up -to-date and accurate
  • Coordinate and prepare information for inspection and quality assurance assessments.
  • Deliver responsive quality assurance processes and outcomes
  • Represent and work closely in Academic Committees
Management of Staff
  • Responsible for the management of academic staff
  • Mentor and advise new academic colleagues
  • Assign and manage academic workloads
Student Management
  • Manage and engage students during classroom management.
  • Engage in student development
  • Advise students with respect to academic performance, and pursuit of advanced studies
  • Conduct and assign staff to assist in new student orientation.
  • Refer students with academic or personal difficulties to the appropriate channels of support
Budget/P & L Responsibility
  • Responsible in budgeting and managing cost for academic areas.
Requirements
  • 8 and more years in related industry, with significant professional experience in the education field and leadership capacity.
  • Experience or knowledge of module and programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
  • Taught modules that are Business/ Graphic Design/ Finance/ Accounting/ Marketing/ Media Communication/ English etc.
  • Ability to engage with and enable organisational change
  • Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary context.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in working with digital technology including an interest in emerging technology and techniques and maintaining an active interest in related developments within the sector.
  • Significant leadership and management experience in higher education.
  • Experience or knowledge of module and programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
  • Ability to engage with and enable organisational change based on a well-developed vision by the senior management team.
  • Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary context.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in working with digital technology including an interest in emerging technology and techniques and maintaining an active interest in related developments within the sector.

  • Classes are conducted in day/evening/weekend depending on schedule/programme.
