Transmission Network Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Huawei optical transmission networking products after-sales support for SDH/HMSTP/DWDM equipment such as site survey, installation, planning, commissioning, migration and maintenance.
• Responsible for solution review and provide low level network solution design to internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for collaboration with cross-functional teams, including customers, account team, project management office, product technical sales, and other delivery network engineers, to ensure seamless system functionality from on-site survey, supervise, testing, commissioning and maintenance of network, and technical proposal of new network presales stage.
• Responsible for issues or outages recovery in the live customer network. Carry out post investigation and communicate with stakeholders for root causes with final report.
• Participate in necessary technical meetings pertaining to operators, internal staff or its associated customers.
• Required to work as a team with regional/HQ or Singapore-based technical teams for transmission projects.
• Required to provide high-quality technical proposals focusing on network reliability, latency optimization, and capacity scaling
• Require to work under minimum supervision to complete tasks assigned.
• Required to present technical solutions professionally and conduct technical training for channel partners and customers on DWDM/OTN technologies.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a minimum of Bachelor Degree in computer science/electrical engineering/telecommunication with distinction.
• Minimum 6years of working experience in optical transmission project implementation/network planning /cutover/maintenance experience
• In-depth knowledge in DWDM, OTN, ROADM, ASON, OTDR, BERT, OSNR, RFC2544, Network management system/FD/OD, 400G C+L, AI-OTN, DC-OXC, preferably with expertise in Huawei-specific Opti X OSN platforms, including NCE-T/IP+T management software.
• Requires ability to handle end-to-end high risk network change implementation, including solution develop, preparing Method of Procedure, solution implementation and service verification.
• Hands-on experience in high capacity link commissioning, ASON network deployment, network performance tuning and migration of legacy services.
• Preferable with FIDS, CCTV and perimeter security related project experienced.
• Candidate with HCIE-Transmission and relative certifications (Datacom, Storage) will be added advantage.
• Network knowledge, such as TCP/IP, BGP is preferred.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage and liaise with different stakeholders.
• Self-initiative to take the responsibility of task and learn new products/technologies.
• Selected candidate shall be adaptable and flexible to tasks or job scopes assigned.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, both written and verbal to liaise with mandarin speaking associates
