Trade Finance Officer - Assistant Team Lead - Toa Payoh

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Assistant Team Leader for a group of staff managing end-to-end processing of import and export trade finance transactions for a defined customer portfolio.
- Delegate and supervise daily work of the team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to operational procedures and documentation controls.
- Check, validate, and approve processed transactions, ensuring compliance with customer instructions, internal policies, credit procedures, AML guidelines, and regulatory requirements (UCPDC, URC, ICC rules, etc.).
- Back-up duties for the Team Lead and Trade Finance processors as necessary to ensure continuity of operations.
- Maintain operational control and ensure alignment with all applicable compliance, risk, AML/CFT, and internal audit standards.
- Monitor daily operations, including transaction flow, documentation, and service delivery standards.
- Handle and resolve customer queries related to trade finance operations professionally and promptly.
- Conduct Nostro account reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Participate in trade-related projects or initiatives as required by business needs or the Bank’s strategic direction.
- Perform verifications and approvals within designated authority limits to maintain operational efficiency and control.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Trade Finance operations, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of trade finance products, including Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, and Bank Guarantees.
- Familiarity with international trade rules and standards (UCPDC, URC, ICC rules), AML/CFT compliance, and local regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks effectively, and uphold service quality standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage both internal stakeholders and customer interactions.
