Cybersecurity engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect our organization's digital assets. You will identify vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and ensure our systems comply with industry standards to safeguard sensitive data and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage security solutions to defend against cyber threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
• Monitor network traffic, security logs, and alerts for suspicious activity.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing detailed analysis and remediation.
• Implement security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into system and application design.
• Keep abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
• Maintain and optimize security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
• Develop security awareness training and support compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of network security, protocols, and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Familiarity with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively articulate security risks and solutions.
