Roles & Responsibilities:

Accounting & Operational Duties:

  • Handle full set of accounts, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing.
  • Maintain project accounts and ensure accurate cost allocation for construction projects.
  • Monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
  • Oversee GST submissions and statutory filings.
  • Track subcontractor and supplier payments in alignment with contract terms.
  • Perform fixed asset management and depreciation scheduling.

Finance & Management Support:

  • Assist the General Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Monitor and report on project profitability and cost control.
  • Support internal controls and improve finance SOPs relevant to the construction sector,
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
  • Provide financial data to support tender submissions and progress claims.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
  • At least 6 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Xero, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in audit or prior exposure to a supervisory role is an advantage.
