Senior Engineer, R&D (NPI)

We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, R&D (NPI) in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at AngMo Kio.

As a Senior Engineer, R&D (NPI), you will:

• Plan and prepare product manufacturing process flow and manufacturing layout.
• Prepare manufacturing assembly work instructions, and examine BOM structure to align manufacturing process strategy planned.
• Manufacturing process cycle time and manpower estimations.
• Develop and qualify assembly and sub assembly fixtures for assembly.
• Conduct PMFEA study and plan for risk mitigation/control thru process solution initiatives.
• Conduct DFA study and interface with Design team to improve design aspects.
• Interface Design team and Manufacturing site to execute assembly line commissioning and manufacturing process validation.
• Conduct operator training for product assembly/manufacturing and certification.
• Oversee and lead the build execution while keeping the entire project team informed with regular progress updates.
• Track and Monitor manufacturing issues, and take initiative to address and resolve them, especially design/DFA issues, to avoid manufacturing issues in future.
• Prepare necessary process deliverables documentation and hand over to manufacturing site team to use as reference for Mass Production and onwards.
• Discuss with customer on the traceability requirement and plan for executing manufacturing traceability system thru DGS set up by coordinating with Operations team
• Understand packaging design concept of the Final Product and develop packaging instruction for the completed Product along with necessary labels required.
• Develop Assembly/FG inspection checklist during proto build to ensure products deliver to customer are properly inspected during process and prior to shipment.
• Manage Assembly Technicians and Operators
• Cross functional team communication and coordination

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in New Product Introduction activities of electromechanical products, by coordinating with R&D Design Team, Customer and Manufacturing Operations.
• Candidates with more years of experience can be considered for senior role.
• Familiar to understand 2D and 3D drawings of assembly and parts
• Proven ability inJig and fixture development and its validation
• Familiar with cycle time study, line balancing and manpower requirement analysis
• Efficient in oral and written communication, and preparation of presentation slides/materials
• Jigs/fixture concept development and validation, process implementation to achieve the quality/yield target
• Well versed with standard manufacturing processes documentations.
• Independently able to perform PFMEA, and plan for mitigation implementations
• Interpersonal communication skill
• Familiar with BOM structuring, implement ECN, Assembly Cycle time estimation and manpower calculations, line balancing, yield calculations and reporting, Build scheduling plan and report preparation etc.
• Ability to identify DFA issues/potential manufacturing issues upfront and propose Poka Yoke solutions for design improvement.
