This position is for Centre for Research on Successful Ageing (ROSA).
  • Planning, Development and Management of Panel Methodological Research Agenda
  • Work closely with the Research Fellows, Research Panel Manager and the research teamin monitoring and evaluating current panel practices for the Singapore Life Panel.
  • Ongoing analysis after each panel wave to monitor sample composition and attrition.
  • Assisting the with day-to-day panel operations of the Singapore Life Panel.
  • Maintaining familiarity with the latest developments in panel survey methodology.
  • External Engagements
  • Handle requests for information from researchers and other interested parties related to the panel.
  • Assist with the reports and presentation decks for external audiences and stakeholders.
  • Engage in outreach activities, including:
  • Organising symposiums, workshops, seminars, roundtables and conferences;
  • Community outreach programs;
  • International research collaborations;
  • Fundraising activities with private and government organisations.
  • Depending on their abilities and preferences, this person also may represent the Centre externally, whether in the media, professional organisations, government or other forums.
  • Research and Publications
  • Assist with data analysis, survey design and research support for research briefs and academic journals.
  • Contribution to research collaborations with government ministries and agencies.
  • Publication of academic papers (co-authoring alongside researchers in economics / sociology / psychology/ data science).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (for research assistant) and Master's degree (for research associate).
  • Background in economics or social sciences preferred.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Well-trained in research methods.
  • Quantitatively trained, with experience of STATA or SPSS.
  • Detail-oriented with exacting standards to maintain accuracy and impartiality in all work products.
  • Ability to work independently to carry out special projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to balance numerous tasks simultaneously and is organised.
  • Clear capacity to train and develop skills in coworkers.
  • Ability to work cohesively and effectively in a team setting and take a leadership role in managing the work of colleagues when needed.
  • Editorial judgment and proven ability to communicate research methodology and survey results clearly andconcisely in the Centre's style in both verbal and written form.
  • Interest in expanding skills to cover new analytical tools and methods.
  • More qualified candidates can be considered for the Research Associate title.
