About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel (Disputes) to join an in-house legal team handling complex and high-impact contentious matters. This role is suited for lawyers who enjoy advocacy, structured legal analysis, and clear writing, and who are comfortable advising stakeholders on risk, strategy, and resolution options.

You will work on matters that require a broader, organisation-wide perspective, and strong performers can expect good progression and rotation opportunities into other legal functions over time.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a portfolio of contentious matters, including pre-action strategy, negotiations/settlement, and court-related work where required
Provide clear legal direction on case strategy, evidence approach, submissions strategy, and resolution pathways
Instruct and manage external counsel (strategy, timelines, quality of pleadings/submissions, budgets)
Advise internal stakeholders on dispute risk, escalation decisions, and practical options to achieve defensible outcomes
Support investigations and dispute-related reviews where issues may lead to litigation exposure
Build stronger internal capability through playbooks, guidance notes, and training on dispute avoidance and response

Requirements

Excellent law degree and admission to the Singapore Bar
Minimum 5 years PQE with strong disputes/litigation experience (civil/commercial)
Excellent drafting and communication skills, able to simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders
Analytical, independent, and self-motivated, with strong ownership of matters
Collaborative team player who can operate across functions and manage sensitive issues with discretion
