What you'll be doing?- Manage procurement processes: Oversee end-to-end procurement for direct materials, ensuring timely delivery, cost optimization, and quality compliance.
- Develop supplier relationships: Build and maintain strong connections with suppliers, focusing on favorable terms, reliable supply, and cost savings.
- Evaluate and select vendors: Assess suppliers based on key performance indicators and continuously monitor their performance.
- Negotiate and manage contracts: Prepare and oversee supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms and regulatory compliance.
- Optimize inventory levels: Work closely with the Supply Chain team to balance supply and demand, minimizing production downtime.
- Collaborate across teams: Work with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to align procurement activities with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance: Maintain regulatory compliance and quality standards for all procured direct materials.
- Manage costs and reporting: Oversee procurement budgets, provide regular reports, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance procurement processes and increase overall efficiency.
- Educational background: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience: 4-6 years of direct materials procurement experience in the pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry.
- Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Regulatory awareness: Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMP and quality standards.
- Communication skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate effectively with teams and suppliers.
- Analytical mindset: Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost optimization and efficiency.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
