Safety Coordinator - Sengkang
Responsibilities & Duties:
Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections on construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.Safety Audits: Perform and assist with safety audits and assessments to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess safety hazards and risks in the workplace and work with the team to implement effective control measures.
Safety Training: Conduct safety training for workers and staff, ensuring they are familiar with safe working practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of equipment.
Incident Reporting: Monitor and report any accidents or incidents on site, conducting root-cause analysis, and taking corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Documentation: Maintain records of safety audits, inspections, training programs, incident reports, and compliance activities.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with local safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., Workplace Safety and Health Act, Singapore Building and Construction Authority standards).
Safety Plans: Develop, implement, and update the construction site's safety management plan in collaboration with site management and other stakeholders.
Liaison with Authorities: Coordinate with local authorities, including the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), for safety inspections and report any incidents as per legal requirements.
Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are trained on procedures and equipped with appropriate emergency equipment.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Safety Manager or Management, in support of overall project safety and compliance.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in safety coordination, preferably in the construction industry.
Certifications: Valid Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer certification is required.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) and other relevant construction safety regulations and standards.
