About the role:
We're seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team working on an advanced autonomous cleaning robot. This role will focus on testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, ongoing technical support, and client communication for our innovative cleaning robotics systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the robotics system in developing and deployment phases
- Learn and master deployment tools and methodologies specific to robotic systems
- Conduct on-site deployments, including initial setup, configuration, and calibration of robot systems
- Perform overall system testing including:
Navigation and obstacle avoidance verification
Sensor calibration and validation (LiDAR, cameras, proximity sensors)
End effector functionality testing (brushes, spray nozzle, suction pump)
Water and detergent flow system testing
System integration testing to ensure all components work harmoniously
- Configure and troubleshoot software systems running on Linux environments
- Manage ROS packages, launch files, and parameters for robot operation
- Execute data collection protocols for specific use cases and environments
- Perform data labelling tasks to support machine learning and AI improvements
- Organize and maintain datasets for ongoing robot learning and optimization
- Document and resolve technical issues during implementation and operation phases
- Create and maintain detailed logs of robot performance metrics and failure modes
- Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues
- Train maintenance personnel and on-site operators on proper robot operation and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor robot performance in real-world environments and collect feedback for improvements
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide regular updates
- Create and deliver client-facing documentation and training materials
- Collect and relay client feedback to the product development team
Qualifications:
- Diploma's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in technical support, robotics maintenance, or similar role
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces
- Working knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) framework and basic commands
- Ability to understand and modify configuration files, launch files, and basic scripts
- Experience with sensor testing, validation, and calibration
- Strong understanding of robotic systems including mobile platforms, manipulators, and end effectors
- Experience with support tools, ticketing systems, and issue tracking software
- Familiarity with testing methodologies for robotic systems
- Ability to work in various environments including commercial restroom facilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong documentation and communication abilities
- Willingness to travel for on-site deployments and support
