Service Manager (Automotive)

Reporting To: Aftersales Manager

Department: Aftersales

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day workshop operations to ensure repair and servicing work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with required technical and quality standards.
  • Monitor, prioritise, and manage work-in-progress (WIP) to prevent aging jobs, delayed billing, customer dissatisfaction, and to support overall profitability targets.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns professionally by providing clear explanations and ensuring fair, timely, and effective resolutions.
  • Coordinate closely with parts and warehouse teams to ensure accurate parts ordering, availability, return control, and minimal inventory loss.
  • Plan service appointments, technician schedules, and workshop capacity to balance customer demand with operational efficiency.
  • Oversee warranty processes, ensure proper documentation, and maintain compliance with warranty, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and supervise service advisors, technicians, and related service administration staff, including workload planning, productivity monitoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all repairs meet required quality standards through accurate diagnosis, correct repair procedures, test rides, and final inspections.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management as required.

Qualifications / Professional Certifications / Skills Required:

  • Minimum degree in any discipline with at least 4 years of automotive industry experience.
  • Proven experience in customer service and handling fleet or high-volume service operations.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
