Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of one large project or multiple small projects within a business domain or cross functional projects. Ensures the project is well planned, on-track, resolves issues across different functions immediately and mitigates any potential risks early to avoid project failure.Leads cross functional teams, works in collaboration and co-ordinates with business users, internal and external teams, and vendors to ensure project is succesfully completed within budget & scope, on time and with quality. Provides regular progress update to key stakeholders and management, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner.
Participates in annual workplanning and manage the estimation of budget for new demands.
Role & Responsibilities- Lead and manage project teams, including users, external teams, and vendors, to achieve project goals within agreed scope, budget, and timeline
- Guide the team in establishing a project management framework aligned with the Quality Management System processes and procedures
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Project Management Plan covering scope, objectives, governance, budget, risks, and communication strategies
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding project progress, issues, risks, resources, and budget status
- Oversee project financial health, including budget utilization and cash flow management
- Manage the project team in developing detailed requirements and deliverables as per the project scope
- Establish change control procedures and approval boards to manage scope changes and assess their impact on budget, resources, and schedule
- Identify stakeholders, clarify roles and responsibilities, and implement a communication plan to align all parties on project objectives and timelines
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Minimally 5 years of relevant experience
- Successful track record in project management, user, contract and vendor management
- Experience as a project lead for small to mid-scale projects
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, analytical skills and ability to work independently and with different groups of stakeholders
- Experience in healthcare industry is an added advantage. Relevant certifications like ITIL, PMP, COMIT, CISSP is an added advantage
