Ltd., who are listed Correspondents for both International Group (“IG”) P&I Underwriters and non-IG P&I Underwriters.
We are offering a training position for a suitable candidate to train with us as a Marine Surveyor and attain competency to professionally engage in a variety of maritime surveys and investigations as instructed to us by our P&I/H&M/Cargo underwriters.
The apprenticeship programme will primarily involve On-Job-Training and the requirement to undertake various maritime Training & Development courses as dictated by the firm.
Primary Responsibilities of a Marine Surveyor
To conduct, independently, a variety of shipboard surveys and/or investigations relating to maritime vessels, maritime operations, and cargo shipped via maritime transportation.
Key Attributes- Good Communication Skills
- Strong Analytical and Research Skills
- Sound Knowledge on maritime vessels, nautical operations, and international maritime conventions
- Confident in drafting comprehensive and professional survey and investigation report
- Credits in 'O' Levels English, Mathematics, and Sciences (Preferably Chemistry and Physics) or similar standard; &
- Preferably a Diploma or Degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering/Marine Technology or Certificate of Competency from a recognised maritime authority
Remunerations
Basic Salary + Assignment-based Shipboard & Transport Allowance
Considerations for prospective candidates:
This role involves mobilising on urgent notice, shipboard attendances, attendances at terminals/shipyards, working on weekends/public holidays and/or operating beyond office hours as the need arises.- Please note that this position is initially a contract-based scheme. Full-time employment as a Marine Surveyor with the firm, thereafter, is conditional upon the candidate's performance, as assessed during the Apprenticeship Programme.
