Job Description
Therapy Support Associate is responsible for providing support to the therapists before, during and after therapy sessions.
He/ She is responsible for supporting department administration and operations, and expected to provide safe, effective and efficient interventions. He / She will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client-centered therapy service.
The therapy support associates will also be responsible for supervising and managing therapy assistants and senior therapy assistants.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties- Carry out prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities as instructed by therapist
- Assist therapists in assessing clients’ status for suitability to start therapy sessions or to continue with therapy sessions
- Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures for clients as prescribed by therapists
- Record therapy sessions according to template sets
- Communicate information of therapy sessions to therapists
- Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists
- Manage and conduct therapy sessions independently for straightforward cases after discussion with therapists
- Conduct basic or routine group therapy
- Ensure proper use of equipment including technological-assisted rehabilitation equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
- Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure volunteer’s compliance to procedures
- Assist in setting up and carrying out trial of new equipment/ projects
- Provide and support in the training of therapy assistants/ senior therapy assistants
- Participate in case discussion with the clinical team using a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach
- Participate in continuous professional development
- Perform basic data entry
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Preferably with minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Good team player
- Dynamic and proactive personality with good public relation and communication skills
- Passionate in serving the community
