Additional job description

The Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Clients team mission is to provide first-party support for these frameworks, enabling customers to run their Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) workloads. We are re-architecting the software stack and expanding the integrations.

Qualifications
Job responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural design of GCS client software (SDKs, connectors), with a focus on creating a seamless, low-friction developer experience. Define the technical roadmap for improving usability and drive adoption of GCS features.
  • Define and lead the strategy for benchmarking, engaging analysis, and performance optimization across all GCS clients.
  • Drive the debugging of systemic issues and translate the insights into architectural improvements.
  • Lead design and code reviews, establish engineering excellence. Ensure the team's output is architected and maintainable.
  • Set the technical standard for the team by mentoring other engineers for debugging, performance optimization, and writing customer-centric client code.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with storage technologies.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and investigative workloads.
  • Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure software in a distributed environment.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.
