About the role
Finance Manager will be responsible for i) accounting, financial reporting, financial audit and tax for the Company's Singapore corporate gyms, the related gym management services and gym operation funds, and ii) assisting the Regional Financial Controller in the Company's group financial audit work.
Key responsibilities- Directs all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting, ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the Company's accounting policies.
- Coordinates, prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and project leads/manages the external audit of all gym entities including liaising with external audit firms including Thailand market.
- Analyses each gym's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
- Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
- Coordinates and/or prepares tax schedules, returns and information.
- Manages cash flow.
- Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll, and other applicable taxes.
- Develops improved and consistent reporting and close processes.
- Develops improved shared services and AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency.
- Acts as Project Manager to drive the Company's group financial audit work, liaising with the external audit firms at both group and component level, and coordinating with internal accounting team for each business unit / market and other functions.
- Fluent in English – essential, high level of communication ability (native language skill level)
- Chartered Accountant (ICA or ACCA)
- Approximately 6 to 7 years of professional experience, including financial audit-related experience in leading accounting firms
- Business or Finance degree (Bachelor or Masters)
- At least 2 to 3 years' managerial experience leading an accounting or audit project team (10+ heads) - essential.
- Experiences of working with / managing multinational / multi-cultural teams – essential.
- Needs to have high level attention to detail and be organised.
- Self-starter, responsible, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes.
- Comfortable with working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Needs to be an effective mature leader who can develop teams to improve performance.
