Finance Manager / Assistant Manager (Based in Malaysia)

Job Scope :

Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of the finance staff.
  • Developing annual budgets, performing financial forecasting, and conducting variance analysis (actual vs. planned).
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) in compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Monitoring day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking relationships to maintain liquidity.
  • Leading the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors, and implementing internal controls to minimize financial risk.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the standard cost system, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing for manufacturing operations.
  • Analyst material, labour, and overhead variances, providing explanations to management.
  • Support pricing strategies by providing accurate factory cost inputs.
  • Oversee inventory controls, cycle counts, and year-end physical stocktakes to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and valuation of Raw Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and Finished Goods.
  • Review stock aging to identify and provision for slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Act as the finance lead for ERP processes, ensuring correct setup of production orders and cost centers.
  • Strengthen controls over production reporting, inventory movements, and cost postings.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Directors or Superior from time to time

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CMA/ACCA preferred.
  • Several years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or inventory management.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong skills in cost analysis, forecasting, and data interpretation.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with production, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
  • Initiative, possesses positive attitude and good team player.
