The Saab Singapore was setup for over 40 years. In Singapore, we deliver solutions to the local customers ranging from civil aviation, naval and land-based products and services. The Saab Singapore office consists an enthusiastic team of sales managers, project managers and systems engineers.This vacancy exists in Saab’s Singapore office, working closely with the Project Team in Karlskrona, Sweden.
Your role:
We are looking for a local project manager in the marine industry with experience in shipbuilding and proficient with management of large-scale composite ship structure construction. For your role, you may be required to travel to Sweden. You are responsible to:
- Oversee and supervise the assembly of composite superstructure as a local project manager;
- Work closely with a local shipyard to ensure processes are strictly adhered, deliver quality of work and ensure compliance of contract requirements;
- Coordinate with relevant parties to manage the progress of the project, ensure that the schedule is on track and provide regular reporting to the Swedish team;
- Manage site document filing and record keeping in accordance with Singapore, Swedish and International standards;
- Monitor compliance of work with the workplace safety and health regulations;
- Advise the Swedish team on applicable policies, guidelines, cost awareness, rules and procedure pertaining to Singapore (incl. those related to health and safety, quality and environment);
- Diploma or Degree in relevant engineering;
- In-depth experience in project delivery and quality assurance with more than 10 years of experience in project management;
- Planning and scheduling skills;
- Knowledge of composite material properties and material handling;
- Team player and able to work with multiple stakeholders (internal, customers, suppliers);
- Communicate fluently in English & Swedish, both verbally and written;
- Analytical thinker, flexible and creative;
- Able to work both independently as in a team in a dynamic environment.
