Assistant Electrical Engineer

About the role
Due to the company expansion, we are seeking a qualified Assistant Electrical Engineer who is proactive in overseeing the operation, maintenance and reliability of the electrical systems within our projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical installations, equipment and maintenance activities comply with statutory requirements, safety standards and operational needs.
Key responsibilities- Manage the maintenance, repair and operation of building electrical systems, including the electrical distribution systems, lighting, emergency power systems and other related equipment
- Plan, supervise and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Monitor the performance and reliability of electrical systems and recommend improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate timely rectification works
- Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance works are carried out safely and in accordance with specifications
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, electrical codes, and workplace safety requirements
- Prepare electrical maintenance schedules, technical reports, risk assessments and documentation
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and procurement of tools and materials
- Respond to electrical emergencies and provide technical support when required
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or other equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities management or property management
- Min. 3 years of relevant experience in GIS, switchgear, or high-voltage equipment engineering
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems in commercial or industrial or buildings
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and building management systems (BMS)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation, including mechanical/assembly drawings, wiring and termination diagrams, schematic/circuit diagrams and single line diagrams (SLD)
- Good understanding of electrical safety regulations and statutory requirements
- Familiar with Singapore Standard on Code of Practice for Electrical Installation
- Experience in supervising maintenance contractors and service providers
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
