Assistant Project Manager
We are a trading / service company in the Marine and Offshore Sector.
Currently seeking a self-motivated individual with leadership qualities, who takes ownership of his/her work, is proactive, and has a can-do mindset to manage projects.
Job Scope:
As an assistant project manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing projects from start to finish. You will be working on-site in shipyards and/or on-board vessels for most of the time during projects. Your key responsibilities include:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Understand project requirements, objectives, timelines, identify, allocate, and manage resources (e.g manpower, materials, and equipment) and to prepare documents/reports and other necessary items before, during and after each project.
- Point of contact: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and clients, attend meetings, provide updates and address concerns, working closely with colleagues and external parties e.g sub-contractors, clients
- Quality and safety control: Ensure that the project meets all quality standards, and regulations/requirements while maintaining safety protocol.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: a) Documentation: Ensure that all project documentation (reports, forms, time sheets, photos/videos etc) is organized and accessible. b) Progress reporting: Provide regular project status reports, such as updates on work done, timelines, and any issues encountered. Report preparation may require consolidating findings during the day, and keying into digital format in the evening to meet client deadlines.
- Indoor sales during off peak season: When there are no on-going projects, you will be required to assist in following up on sales enquiries and its related functions (e.g issuing quotations, purchase orders etc).
- Any other ad-hoc assignments given
Requirements:
Minimum local diploma in marine engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or management studies.- 2 year working experience in marine industry and/or project management is highly advantageous.
Must be PC literate.
Aptitude to acquire new skills, technical and product knowledge
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Independent, self-motivated and able to work effectively to meet operation objectives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.- 5 Days Work Week :
- When working in shipyard/on board vessels
Monday to Friday - 7:30am or 8:00am to 5.00 pm
Saturday - 7:30am or 8:00 am to 12.00 pm- When working in office
- Monday to Friday - 9:00am to 5.00 pm
- Saturday - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm
Annual bonuses vary from 1 to 3 months+++, depending on company business and work performance.
