Research Assistant (NIE-CRPP)
The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 12-month contract (renewable) at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice.
Project Title: Developing Teacher competencies in Aesthetically-Infused Inquiry-Based Learning (AIIBL): An intervention to move IBL in Humanities and Arts to the next phase
Project Introduction: [This Design-based Research (DBR) intervention aims to do the following: (1) To observe teacher professional learning through an iterative co-design and implementation of IBL curriculum units with teachers in Humanities and Arts primary and secondary schools using the AIIBL framework and determine areas to support growth and development; (2) To develop Humanities and Arts curriculum units’ AIIBL design to support the growth and development of students’ 21CC; and (3) To build a foundation for a theory of transference of learning and skills across domains by exploring the potentials of AIIBL for cross-disciplinary development of 21CC.]
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Arts, or related field- Familiar with Qualitative and Quantitative Research
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to synthesise diverse literature
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Project management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and NVivo
- Background in teaching, preferably in quantitative ethnography and arts
- Possess the willingness to learn and grow
- Inquirer, critical thinker
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Organized, reliable, patient, and with strong initiative
Responsibilities:
- Conduct data collection and analysis to support research objectives
- Coordinate and manage project timelines and deliverables
- Report writing and contributing to academic publications and presentations
- Collaborate with CRPP colleagues to support cross-functional research initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
