Demand Planner (Commercial & Trade Support)

Role Purpose
The Demand Planner drives accurate demand forecasting and stock readiness to support sales execution and maintain healthy inventory levels. This role works closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Trade Marketing to ensure customer demand is met efficiently while minimising overstock, shortages, and costs.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting (Core Focus)- Own and manage the weekly demand forecasting cycle across categories, key accounts, and sales channels
- Build rolling forecasts using historical data, sales inputs, seasonality, promotions, and new product launches
- Review, challenge, and refine sales forecasts to improve accuracy and reduce bias
- Prepare monthly S&OP demand plans, risks, assumptions, and key insights
- Monitor forecast accuracy, availability, and service levels; recommend corrective actions
- Monitor inventory health (stock turns, ageing, expiry, slow movers) and propose actions to reduce risk
- Flag supply risks early and coordinate mitigation with Supply Chain and Procurement
- Support campaign stock planning and post-campaign analysis
- Act as the first point of contact for stock availability, ETA, and supply-related enquiries
- Support pricing discrepancy investigations and maintain exception trackers
- Coordinate product specifications, documentation, and pack change updates
- Liaise with assigned principals on availability, lead times, promotions, and reporting
- Support Trade Marketing and Key Account teams on brand-related operational matters
- 2–5 years’ experience in demand planning, forecasting, or commercial operations
- Strong understanding of demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain fundamentals
- Strong Excel skills (data analysis, pivots, forecasting models)
- Experience with ERP or planning systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite) is an advantage
- Commercially minded, structured, and detail-oriented
- Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
