Breakthrough Missions, a Christian halfway house dedicated to supporting male ex-drug offenders, a charity organization with IPC Status, is hiring a new position of full-time Social Worker. Purpose of Job
The Social Worker will be responsible for providing counselling and case management support for clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and develop care plans for clients.
- Manage case files and provide ongoing case management.
- Facilitate classes, group/individual counselling sessions, intake interviews at the Prison, family sessions, and community service programs.
- Collaborate with the Prison Department, residents, and families.
- Facilitate the reconnection of clients with community services and their families.
- Oversee day-to-day matters of residents.
- Provide after-care services such as job placement and arranging lodging.
- Assist with general administration duties.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Technical Competencies :
- Degree in Social Work or Psychology or Counselling.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field or social service work.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Capable of working independently and under pressure.
Core Competencies:
- Passion for working full-time in the Christian halfway house sector and instilling Christian values in clients.
- Bilingual in English and proficient in Chinese to communicate with Chinese-speaking clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as providing all forms of administrative support.
- Exposure to prison or rehabilitation work is advantageous.
