Freelance / Part-Time IBDP Language & Literature Tutor

Remuneration: $70 – $100/hour (commensurate with experience)

Job Description

We are seeking experienced and passionate IBDP Language & Literature tutors to join our team on a freelance or part-time basis. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the IB Lang & Lit curriculum, strong familiarity with Singapore-based IB schools (e.g., ACSI, SJI, SOTA), and a proven track record of guiding students toward excellence.

• Deliver high-quality 1-to-1 or small group lessons for IBDP Language & Literature (SL/HL)
• Provide targeted support for Paper 1, Paper 2, Individual Oral (IO), and HL Essay
• Guide students in understanding literary texts, global issues, and text analysis
• Mark and review students' essays, oral practice, and other internal assessments
• Adapt teaching approach based on student needs and school-specific syllabus pacing
• Help students understand and apply IB exam rubrics and criteria
• Track student progress and provide feedback to parents if required

• Minimum 5 years of IBDP Language & Literature teaching/tutoring experience
• Familiar with syllabi and literature texts taught at schools like ACSI, SJI, SOTA, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of IB assessment rubrics, global issues, and literary frameworks
• Proven success in helping students achieve Level 6–7 grades
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Responsible, responsive, and able to commit consistently
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or relevant fields preferred

• MOE-trained or IB-certified teachers highly valued
• Familiarity with commonly studied texts in local IB schools (e.g., The Woman Warrior, Persepolis, A Doll’s House, etc.)
