Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Field Service Engineer to provide on-site engineering support for our customers. This role will serve as the primary field-based technical interface between our customers and our internal teams, providing on-site service engineering and telephone-based failure-analysis and support.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring world-class support, rapid issue resolution, and proactive alignment with our customers’ requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Technical Support & Failure Analysis
- Provide product maintenance and repair at customer sites and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) locations.
- Support initial fault-finding and failure analysis by recording and assessing electrical output data. Review and interpret tester data logs in support of failure analysis.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams (design, manufacturing, SQE) to conduct in-depth failure analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support systemic root-cause investigations by collecting relevant data and providing detailed and accurate service reports.
- Own external customer communication: manage expectations, present findings clearly, and de-escalate issues when needed.
- Internal Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with immediate colleagues, Technical Sales engineers, Project Managers, Quality Engineers, and Design Centers to communicate customer requirements and technical risks.
- Support colleagues with knowledge-sharing and advice wherever possible.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable tasks for internal teams, making sure each team understands the "why" behind their deliverables.
- Act as the buffer between the other in-house teams and the customer, filtering escalations appropriately and helping maintain a stable working relationship.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customer-facing engineering roles, preferably within the semiconductor industry.
- Direct experience working with tier-1 foundry customers is highly preferred.
- Strong technical communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and balance tactical execution with long-term customer engagement.
- Basic knowledge of electrical components and the ability to understand circuit principles. Proficiency in using PCB design tools such as Cadence is highly preferred.
- Experience in PCB, IC packaging, probe card, or other semiconductor-related hardware is a plus but not strictly required.
