Job Title: Desktop Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Desktop Engineer to manage the installation, maintenance, and support of client platforms and end-user devices. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills with a solid foundation in Microsoft Windows and preferably hold a CompTIA A+ certification.This role also requires flexibility to travel overseas on short notice when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and provide daily operational support for client platforms in alignment with business needs and agreed service levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client platform-related issues promptly.
- Respond to and investigate incidents, providing both temporary and permanent resolutions. Ensure timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Handle service requests related to desktop and client platform environments.
- Monitor systems against service level agreements and maintain accurate configuration documentation.
- Provide regular status reports and incident summaries to relevant parties.
- Participate in implementation or upgrade projects for client platforms.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and communication.
- Be available for overseas travel on short notice as required for support or deployment projects.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows OS (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
- Basic understanding of hardware components and system diagnostics
Preferred Skills:
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent technical qualification
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and processes
- Good understanding of ITIL framework (certification is a plus)
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related field
- 1+ years of experience in a desktop support or similar role
