The Manager (IT Infrastructure) role focuses on the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the organization's server infrastructure. Key responsibilities include server hardware and software selection, sizing, and participation in Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business needs.

The Manager (IT Infrastructure) will actively monitor server utilization, plan and execute data backups, and efficiently resolve server-related issues to minimize operational disruptions. This position also entails leading a team of infrastructure support personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance & Security: Conduct routine system and software audits, perform backups, apply OS updates and patches, and ensure robust system security compliance and server hardening.
  • User & Server Administration: Manage account setups, Active Directory deployment and administration, user credentials, and frameworks. Administer Windows Servers, AD, Group Policy, and Office 365.
  • Performance & Proactive Management: Monitor system and application availability and performance. Proactively assess infrastructure for improvements, diagnose, and resolve system issues.
  • Disaster Recovery & Capacity Planning: Plan and participate in disaster recovery tests, including full system recovery and restoration. Monitor utilization and plan for server system capacity upgrades.
  • Virtualization & Storage: Administer enterprise-sized VMware virtual infrastructures (vCenter, ESXi). Design, plan, implement, and administer enterprise-grade servers and storage technologies, including highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment. Install, configure, and integrate servers within the VMware virtual infrastructure, performing backups and troubleshooting.
  • Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure compliance with IT security standards, policies, and procedures. Liaise with other technical teams, including application developers and vendors.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of system administrators, setting objectives, conducting reviews, and fostering professional development. Coordinate team activities to align with IT strategy, ensuring efficient task delegation and project management.
  • Craft IT policies, manage IT audits, and ensure compliance with ITIL processes and SLA guidelines.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years in Windows Server (2016+) systems administration.
  • At least 3 years in SharePoint (2013+ and Online) and VMware virtual infrastructure administration.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of IT operations best practices and virtualization.
  • Certifications (Preferred): MCSE or VCP.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage IT infrastructure teams and projects effectively.

Powershell / CMD Line Scripting, Deployment Knowledge (SCCM/Custom Imaging/Software Centres), Experience in implementing and / or e.g., office 365 / Azure AD/AD migration, Knowledges or experience with Linux, Mobile Device Management, Data Loss Prevention policy, to monitor, manage and secure company-owned mobile devices / laptops (Windows/Mac/iOS/Android) will be a plus
