Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our data center. This role involves hardware handling, inventory management, system monitoring, and coordination with vendors and internal teams to ensure optimal performance and security of data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unpack, label, and document incoming data center hardware.
• Mount and dismount hardware in data center racks.
• Perform firmware, BIOS, driver, and software updates.
• Conduct basic operating system installations and handovers.
• Configure and patch hardware monitoring tools.

• Maintain accurate inventory records of all data center hardware and spare parts.
• Manage spare parts storage, including dismounting reusable components and restocking.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate order requests as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation of all assets in stock and in use.

• Conduct regular hardware health checks and monitoring.
• Clean and organize data center racks and surrounding areas.
• Update documentation on hardware configurations and rack layouts.

• Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes based on ITIL standards.
• Perform on-site diagnostics and coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements.
• Provide escort services for vendor access to the data center, including after-hours support.

• Cross-check delivery notes with purchase orders.
• Dispose of packing materials and decommissioned hardware in compliance with security and environmental standards.
• Manage hardware returns and logistics with vendors.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure support.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and data center best practices.
• Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and monitoring tools.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to on-call duties as required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of BIOS/firmware update procedures.
• Hands-on experience with asset management systems.

Must be able to start on 1 October 2025.
