We are looking for a Business Development Intern to join our team and works to improve an organisation’s market position and achieve financial growth. He/She prospects new clients and generates interest from potential clients. He builds up potential leads and identifies business opportunities, maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.He/She will be part of the effort in closing deal, and will be trained on the job in negotiation.
He works in a community and family focused environment, frequently travels to clients' premises, and attends networking events. He/she will pick up client relationship management and sales tools. He/she will come to be knowledgeable of the organisation's products and services, as well as trends, developments and challenges of the industry domain.
The Business Development Intern is self-motivated and capable of executing clear and meaningful goals. He/she displays high levels of resilience when faced with challenges. He/She will learn the consultative selling approach and is able to apply the skills to leverage on and support the role that marketing place in attracting, qualifying and nurturing prospective customers.
Key responsibility areas
Develop new business opportunities- Carry out research potential clients, existing and new markets, products and services to identify new business opportunities
- Learn to evaluate opportunities through financial feasibility studies, risk assessment and market research to inform business development decisions
- Learn to present business trends and its impact on new products and/or services, and distribution channels
- Learn to Identify new business opportunities for growing revenue, diversifying business streams and strengthening market position, and selling the company’s suite of services to new customers/clients
- Report on the status of new sales activities
- Develop with manager, business development plans with critical success factors and targets
- Utilize sales tools to facilitate the selling process
- Assist to oversee the development of campaigns, social media presence, seminars, forums, web-site content and case studies
- Analyse business development approaches and strategies to determine their best use within the market
- Use sales tools for accurate forecasting of current and future business
- Prepare bid documents and proposals
- Co-Develop long-range goals and objectives for market penetration
- Update business development strategies in line with market and industry trends
- Evaluate client feedback to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to enhance client experience
- Manage the resolution of client feedback and queries and escalate to higher level when needed
- Co-Develop engagement plans and activities to build and strengthen relationships with clients
- Communicate client feedback and market sentiments to relevant internal stakeholders to enhance products and/or services
- Engage clients regularly to uncover current and potential business concerns and needs
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed Diploma
- Able to work collaboratively with others, and contribute to team work.
- Possess interpersonal skills allowing efficient communication with others to achieve mutual consensus and outcomes.
- Able to detect and decipher emotions of others to manage interpersonal relationships in work situations.
- Able to identify problems and solve using given guidelines
- Possess service-oriented mindset to commit to meet the needs of internal and external clients
- Able to choose a course of action from various alternatives using a reasoned process to achieve intended goals.
