Infrastructure Automation Engineer (2 Year Contract)
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in automation and observability to support mission-critical technology platforms within a public sector environment. This 2-year contract role is suited for an engineer experienced in building infrastructure automation frameworks and enterprise-scale monitoring solutions in complex, high-availability systems.
Responsibilities:
You will design and enhance automation capabilities across infrastructure and application environments using configuration management tools such as Ansible. You will also develop and maintain centralized logging and monitoring platforms using the Elastic Stack, building dashboards, alerts and ingestion pipelines to improve system visibility and performance.
The role includes strengthening system resilience through proactive monitoring, automated remediation, and performance tuning. You will troubleshoot platform issues, support upgrades and enhancements, participate in incident response, and maintain clear technical documentation and operational runbooks.
Requirements:
You should hold a relevant degree and have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure automation and observability engineering.
Strong experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and data shippers (Beats/Elastic Agent) is required, along with solid Linux administration skills. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and automation/configuration tools such as Ansible is essential.Knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, and APM tooling in distributed environments is expected.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages, as well as shell scripting, is required. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform) is advantageous.
