Role Description

Montessori Seniors Ltd. is seeking an Art & Music Therapist for a contract role based on-site in the Queenstown area. In this position, you will design and facilitate music and art therapy sessions tailored to residents' individual needs, focusing on promoting cognitive and emotional well-being, and quality of life.

Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing creative activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective care plans, and supporting individuals with diverse needs, including those with cognitive challenges and developmental disabilities.

Create therapeutic programmes for our dementia clients, using mediums of art and/or music
Conduct individual and group sessions to promote cognitive stimulation and emotional wellbeing of the clients
Develop individual treatment plans catered their abilities and preferences.
Monitor and document the clients' progress
Encourage and nurture the clients' emotional expression
Co-ordinate with other facilitators to ensure the smooth service of the centre

Qualifications

Proven background in art/music, creating engaging therapeutic activities
Experience in developing treatment plans with a focus on cognitive and emotional health
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards
Relevant certifications or degrees in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or related fields
Previous experience in senior care or therapy is an advantage
Proficiency in English is required
Proficiency in Mandarin speech and writing will be advantageous, other local languages will be considered

Salary Range

$2.8k-$3.5k per month
