Lead Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer (Industrial Water Treatment Solutions)

This role is ideal for commercially driven engineers who enjoy combining technical expertise with business development. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering water treatment solutions that improve operational efficiency and sustainability for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management- Identify and develop new business opportunities within industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts while building long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
- Drive sales activities from prospecting and opportunity qualification through proposal submission and order closure.
- Develop account strategies to achieve revenue targets and support business growth initiatives.
- Expand customer portfolio by actively engaging both existing and new clients.
- Understand customer operational requirements and recommend suitable water treatment programs and solutions.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Work closely with operations and service teams to ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Support customers with technical discussions and solution recommendations throughout the sales cycle.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the water treatment industry.
- Build and maintain strong networks with industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and institutional customers.
- Contribute to business growth initiatives and support the achievement of team sales objectives.
- Coordinate with customer service, technical, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and account management.
- Ensure seamless handover of awarded contracts and projects to the service delivery team.
- Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of sales or business development experience within water treatment chemicals, water additives, specialty chemicals, or related industrial solutions.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and securing new business opportunities.
- Candidates are encouraged to indicate their annual sales achievements, revenue generated, booking value secured, major projects won, or key account portfolio directly in their CV.
- Experience in securing and delivering significant sales revenue within industrial, commercial, or institutional accounts will be highly advantageous.
- Strong network within industrial plants, commercial facilities, data centres, manufacturing, institutional, or process industries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of water treatment applications, water chemistry, cooling water, boiler water, wastewater treatment, or related process solutions.
- Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence and own vehicle for customer visits.
- Water Efficiency Manager (WEM) certification or equivalent is advantageous.
