Lab Assistant

About the role

Become part of the dynamic team at M-Dec Inks and Coatings as a full-time Lab Assistant based in the West Region. In this pivotal role, you will provide support to our laboratory team, contributing to the development and testing of our ink products.

• Prepare, mix, and test inks and pigments following standardized procedures to ensure they meet stringent quality standards
• Conduct routine and specialized testing of colour properties (viscosity, pH, dispersion, etc.)
• Document formulations, test results and maintaining detailed laboratory records and data
• Perform daily safety checks and ensure that lab equipment such as mixers, spectrophotometers, and mills are in tip top condition
• Collaborate with chemists and engineers on research and development projects
• Ensure workplace cleanliness

• Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably within the ink manufacturing industry
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• A curious and analytical mindset, with the ability to problem-solve and think critically
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
