Engineer – Marine and Reclamation Engineering
The successful candidate will contribute to winning new business and ensuring the successful technical delivery of complex coastal and reclamation projects.
Key Responsibilities (Job Description):
- Technical Support for Market Development:
Ø Assist the business development teams by providing technical input for proposals, tenders, and client presentations related to marine and reclamation projects.
Ø Participate in client meetings and site visits to understand project needs and articulate technical solutions.
Ø Contribute to feasibility studies, preliminary designs, and cost estimations for new project opportunities.- Project Engineering & Delivery Support:
Ø Provide engineering design, analysis, and technical oversight for marine structures (e.g., seawalls, breakwaters, jetties) and land reclamation projects.
Ø Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.
Ø Support project managers in planning, coordination, and monitoring of project phases (design, procurement, construction, supervision).
Ø Conduct site inspections and liaise with contractors to ensure works adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.- Design & Analysis:
Ø Perform engineering analyses related to coastal processes, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, geotechnical stability, and foundation design for reclamation areas.
Ø Utilize engineering software for modeling and design tasks.- Documentation & Compliance:
Ø Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and environmental guidelines.
Ø Maintain accurate project documentation and assist in the preparation of progress and final reports.- Collaboration:
Ø Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, environmental, planning).
Requirements:
- Education & Certification:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a directly related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
Ø Progress towards or holding a relevant professional engineering license/certification (e.g., EIT, PE, or international equivalent) is preferred.- Experience:
Ø Minimum of 5 years of direct hands-on experience in the engineering design and/or project delivery of marine and reclamation projects.
Ø Demonstrated involvement in at least one major land reclamation project is highly desirable.
Ø Experience in a consulting or contractor environment is preferred.- Technical Skills:
Ø Solid understanding of marine and reclamation engineering principles, including dredging, ground improvement, coastal protection, and marine structures.
Ø Proficiency with relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS tools, hydrodynamic or geotechnical modeling software).
Ø Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.- Soft Skills & Competencies:
