Job Description: A Portfolio Assistant will be working closely with our portfolio managers and investment operations manager in assisting with a variety of investment related tasks. The role will provide the individual to a wide exposure to the various aspects of investment management.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Operations and Management:
- Assist portfolio managers in maintaining in-house financial data system with investment positioning and securities information
- Developing a strong understanding of investments and financial data across our multiple counterparties and financial institutions, with the ability to efficiently navigate, analyse, and utilize this data in daily operations
- Reconcile executed trades done with counterparties with internal systems to ensure all trades are accurately executed and recorded
- Assist in the strategic allocation of assets across various investment categories and continuously monitor portfolio performance to ensure alignment with investment objectives and benchmarks.
- Prepare detailed analytics and reports on portfolios to portfolio managers, senior management and clients.
Investment Research:
- Conduct research on market trends, economic conditions, and investment opportunities to inform decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth research on individual securities, including stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments, using various valuation models and metrics to assess the fair value of securities, and provide recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to discuss financial forecasts, risks, and strategies whilst staying abreast of market trends and economic indicators that could impact securities performance.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with the portfolio, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.
- Perform stress tests and scenario analyses to evaluate portfolio performance under adverse conditions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Prepare and present risk analysis reports to senior management, highlighting potential risks and recommended actions.
