Business Development Assistant Manager - Yishun

At WayStar, the Business Development Assistant Manager is the frontline partner in transforming the food distribution industry for the hospitality sector. More than just driving sales, this role demands a proactive, service-driven, and innovation-minded individual who is passionate about co-creating solutions with clients.
As the company embarks on strategic new initiatives that aim to redefine how hotels source, customise, and experience food supply with WayStar, the Business Development Assistant Manager will be instrumental in building and managing long-term client partnerships, driving culinary innovation, and providing exceptional support for customers in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management & Service Excellence
- Be the proactive main contact to key hotel and F&B accounts, ensuring outstanding service quality and responsiveness.
- Understand each client’s kitchen operations, procurement cycles, and guest expectations to offer consultative support.
- Proactively address concerns, manage service recovery, and ensure long-term satisfaction.
- Customer Sales Analysis & Insights
- Analyse sales performance by customer to identify patterns, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Track client order trends, volume shifts, and product performance to drive strategic decision-making.
- Prepare client-specific reports and dashboards to support internal planning and client engagement.
- Product & Menu Development Collaboration
- Work closely with chefs and culinary teams to identify product gaps or innovation opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Culinary Development, QA, Procurement) to customise product solutions, packaging, and specifications.
- Assist in the co-creation of value-added items aligned with hotel brand identities.
- Market Insights & Trend Engagement
- Stay updated on dining and consumer trends within the hospitality sector.
- Translate industry insights into product suggestions and service enhancements for clients.
- Support marketing with content ideas, product launch events, or culinary showcases.
- Business Growth & Revenue Development
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities within the premium foodservice space.
- Develop client-specific proposals and build business cases for new product introductions.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Internal Collaboration
- Work with operations, compliance, and logistics to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of client requirements.
- Assist in customer feedback sessions and quarterly business reviews.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Business, Hospitality, Food Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in in B2B client management in the Hotel, Airlines, Casino hospitality industry
- Proven strong track records of sales and business development results.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Passion for service excellence and food innovation.
