Supplier Quality Engineer (Electronics)

Our Client:

• Electronics Part Distributor
• Monday - Friday, 8am - 5.30pm
• East - Kaki Bukit
• Basic UP $4000 + Transport Allowances + Variable Bonus

Responsibilities:

• Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers; conduct audits and capability assessments.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and lead issue resolution with tools like 8D and 5 Whys.
• Define incoming inspection standards, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria in coordination with engineering and production.
• Conduct hands-on inspections and testing of incoming parts/products; investigate defects and manage NCRs.
• Maintain quality documentation and drive continuous improvements with suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and Japan HQ to align on quality expectations and support product launches.
• Clearly communicate quality requirements across suppliers, ensuring cross-cultural understanding.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience,
• Experience in supplier/manufacturing quality and understanding of production processes
• Knowledge of inspection methods (e.g., AQL), and quality tools like FMEA, SPC, MSA
• Skilled in using measurement/test tools for electrical or electronic parts
• Able to read engineering drawings and datasheets
• Willing to travel for supplier audits
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear reporting skills
• Experience with ISO 9001 and working with Southeast Asian or Chinese suppliers is an advantage
