The opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing provider of “one-stop” market access to India for professional investors worldwide. To accelerate expansion, we’re hiring a senior BD professional who can open doors at hedge funds, proprietary trading houses and high-frequency traders, then structure partnerships with prime brokers, trading-tech vendors and data platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire new buy-side clients – pitch execution, custody and clearing solutions to hedge funds and HFT desks and convert them into active trading relationships.
- Develop strategic partnerships – sign and manage agreements with prime-broker teams, OMS/EMS providers and other intermediaries so their users route Indian flow through our client.
- Own the commercial cycle end-to-end – coordinate product, legal, operations and technology teams to deliver smooth onboarding and ongoing support.
- Monitor market & regulatory changes (e.g., SEBI, GIFT City, MAS) and feed insights back to improve the offering.
Requirements:
- Proven track record (≈ 5–10 yrs) in institutional sales, prime-brokerage BD, or trading-technology enterprise sales focused on hedge-fund or quant-trading clients.
- Existing network of decision-makers (PMs, CTOs, COOs) at Asia-Pacific or global hedge funds / prop shops.
- Ability to discuss latency, FIX connectivity, DMA and settlement in clear, client-friendly language.
- Experience negotiating and closing multi-party commercial agreements.
- Strong stakeholder-management and presentation skills.
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with India market structure or additional Asian languages for client-liaison purposes.
