Associate Engineer, Equipment

Position Summary

The Equipment Associate Engineer is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting cleanroom equipment to support stable and efficient manufacturing operations. This role supports engineering and production teams through equipment setup, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield and productivity.

• Perform equipment maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment to support cleanroom operations.
• Provide line sustaining support to manufacturing, such as machine conversions, device setup, and jig/tool maintenance.
• Carry out, update, and document preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with equipment specifications and process requirements.
• Assist engineering in device and recipe creation, equipment buy-off, evaluation, qualification, and new product introduction (NPI).
• Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on yield, equipment uptime, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), maintenance cost, equipment modifications, and productivity.
• Ensure timely updating and integrity of maintenance-related documentation (e.g., pass down reports, PM checklists).
• Manage spare parts and consumables inventory to avoid recovery delays due to stock-outs.
• Maintain good housekeeping and comply with cleanroom safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, engineers, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Material Science or similar discipline
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in semiconductor/ LCD/ electronics/ electrical industry.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Has hands-on experience in handling equipment, preferably in the area of back-end semiconductor processes
• Able to work in both day and night rotating shifts, and flexible to work under various shift patterns.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Good communication and documentation skills; able to read and interpret equipment manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
