Manager / Senior Manager, Venue Programming
Job Purpose
The Manager/Senior Manager is part of the Venue Programming team at AHG and works collaboratively to shape and deliver meaningful programmes and placemaking initiatives across various venues. This role is able to conceptualise, develop and implement impactful venue-based programmes that spotlight the distinctive cultural character of each space, activate the creative strengths and potential of AHG tenants, and position AHG venues as vibrant creative spaces accessible for diverse audiences.
Working closely with artists, tenants and strategic partners, the role also supports placemaking efforts, builds meaningful partnerships, and grows audiences through various initiatives and platforms. The successful candidate will bring strong artistic judgement and sensitivity to context, while contributing to shared team outcomes and organisational objectives.
Duties include:
- Work as an integral member of AHG Venue Programming team
- Conceptualise, plan, develop, manage and execute programmes and projects across AHG venues, in line with the programming strategy and venue-focus, and signature events and festivals for AHG Arts Centres.
- Stakeholder engagement and reaching out to targeted audiences, including communities, schools, beneficiaries, and interest groups, through programming initiatives and platforms.
- Placemaking and marketing of AHG venue programmes and initiatives by working across AHG departments, including partner and stakeholder relationship building.
- Handle all administrative and logistical duties related to initiatives and projects, including but not limited to, budgets and timelines, front-of-house and customer management, and so on.
- Ensure compliance and execution of related finance and procurement, agreements and contracts at all times.
- Work closely with various departments within AHG, including but not limited to Placemaking, Marketing, Communications, Partnership Development Centre Heads and Technical Production, to ensure the success of the programmes and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in arts and/or Social Sciences. A subject concentration in Performing Arts/Visual Arts/Literature is a bonus.
- At least 5 years (for Manager) or 8 years (for Senior manager) of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong aptitude in arts management, project management, and/or arts programming. Experience in an arts institution / organisation is preferred.
- Fluent in English and proficiency in a mother-tongue language (Malay/Mandarin/Tamil) would be an advantage. We are seeking candidates proficient in Malay/Mandarin/Tamil to effectively communicate with Malay/Mandarin/Tamil-speaking clients.
- Proficiency in using and applying MS Office at work.
- Possesses good communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Dynamic and strong team player with good organisational skills, able to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work on weekends, public holidays and evenings when required.
- Specialised knowledge: Passion and knowledge of arts and culture in Singapore.
