Data Engineer (SQL/ETL Focus)

Data Engineer (SQL/ETL focus) - 12 months contract

Location: Tanjong Pagar

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support business operations, analytics, and reporting.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with SQL, data integration, and automation, and has experience handling data from multiple systems in a production environment.

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and data models
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks
• Integrate data from multiple source systems into centralized datasets
• Automate data workflows and reporting processes
• Support business users with data extraction and reporting needs
• Troubleshoot data issues and ensure data accuracy and reliability

Requirements

Must-Have:

• 3–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, BI, or Data Platform roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL (advanced queries, joins, aggregation)
• Experience with ETL tools or data integration processes (e.g. SSIS, Airflow, etc.)
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Experience in data validation, reconciliation, and reporting

Good-to-Have:

• Programming experience (e.g. Python, C#, or similar)
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g. SSRS, Power BI, Tableau)
• Scripting experience (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
• Background in financial services, trading systems, or manufacturing

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Attention to detail, especially in data accuracy and integrity
• Ability to work independently and manage data workflows end-to-end
• A practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys building reliable systems
