Summary

We are seeking a Temporary IT Support Engineer to provide day-to-day IT support and infrastructure administration support until September 2026. This role is responsible for ensuring stable IT operations, delivering responsive user support, maintaining key systems, and supporting cybersecurity best practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and technically competent in end-user support, system administration, virtualization, backup technologies, and basic infrastructure troubleshooting. This is a great opportunity for someone who can work independently while collaborating effectively with internal users and the wider IT team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and standard business applications.
  • Deliver help desk and end-user support, including incident resolution, service requests, and user guidance.
  • Support system administration tasks across Windows-based IT environments.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining virtualized environments, including Hyper-V.
  • Support and monitor MS SQL related environments and basic database administration tasks.
  • Assist with backup and recovery operations using Veeam, including backup job monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Perform proactive system maintenance, patching, updates, health checks, and preventive support.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of cybersecurity and follow company IT security policies, including endpoint protection, access controls, and safe IT practices.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and work closely with vendors or internal stakeholders when required.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, asset changes, and support procedures accurately. Support IT inventory, equipment preparation, deployment, and user onboarding/offboarding as needed.
  • Contribute positively as a team player in supporting business operations and maintaining IT service standards.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in technical support, IT support, or system administration.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows environment administration, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Veeam backup solutions.
  • High level of awareness and discipline in cybersecurity practices.
  • Experience in Help Desk / End-User Support is an advantage.
  • Proactive approach to system maintenance and issue prevention.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco are an added advantage.
