- Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for managing the company’s financial planning, risk management, reporting, and strategy. The CFO plays a crucial role in shaping business direction, driving financial performance, and ensuring long-term sustainability through effective financial management and informed strategic decision-making.
- Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Lead long-term financial strategy in alignment with company goals
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, expansion, and risk
- 2. Financial Management & Controls
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity positions
- Oversee accounting operations, reporting, and internal controls
- Ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts
- 3. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory obligations (e.g., IRAS, ACRA, MOM, CPF, BCA)
- Manage audits, company secretarial duties, and corporate governance
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
- 4. Corporate Finance
- Handle fundraising, banking, and investor relations (if applicable)
- Evaluate investment opportunities, ROI, and capital expenditures
- Manage financing for projects (e.g., project-based funding, trade lines)
- 5. Business Performance & Reporting
- Generate management reports (P&L, balance sheet, project costing, etc.)
- Monitor project profitability and support QS/Project teams in cost control
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decisions
- 6. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor the finance, accounting, and procurement teams
- Work closely with other department heads (projects, HR, BD)
- Build systems and structure to scale the finance function
- Requirements & Qualifications:
Criteria Description Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Certifications CPA, ACCA, CA (Singapore) preferred Experience 8–10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience Industry Exposure Construction, engineering, property, or manufacturing preferred Skills Financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow, leadership, compliance Systems Familiarity with ERP, accounting tools (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP)
