The Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) is an academic research centre in Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Drawing on the team's multidisciplinary expertise and collaborations across medical, social, psychological, economic, and environmental perspectives, CARE's research is situated in eight broad thematic areas: Population Health, Social and Psychological Aspects of Ageing, Family Caregiving, Productive Ageing, Falls Prevention, Community-Based Health and Social Care Services, Ageing and the Environment, and Health Communication.

We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant/ Research Assistant (Senior) to join our team at CARE.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to support a large-scale population-based longitudinal study of older adults and contribute to broader centre-level initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Research Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit ethics applications to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and support ongoing ethics reporting
- Support participant recruitment activities (i.e., interviewer training and shadowing)
- Provide administrative and operational support for fieldwork and project implementation across studies
- Clean, manage, and maintain large longitudinal datasets, including updates across study waves
- Perform data management tasks, including data quality checks, consistency checks, and preparation of codebooks
- Perform intermediate-level statistical analyses
- Conduct literature reviews
- Contribute to academic manuscript development process, including drafting, reviewing, revising, and submission
Centre-level Responsibilities:
- Support Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, monitoring, and reporting for CARE's research activities and outputs
- Prepare presentation materials and slide decks for the Principal Investigator and research team, as required
- Support other research initiatives within CARE as needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Gerontology, or a related field.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple project-related tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient administrative skills to support project operations effectively.
- Prior experience in clinical or public health research is an advantage.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Stata or R.
- Good understanding of quantitative methods in applied health and/or social sciences.
- Fluency in English with excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with concepts relevant to geriatric and gerontology research.
- Individual who is motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
The position is for one year but can potentially be extended. The grade of appointment will be accorded based on candidate's academic qualifications and years of relevant experience.
