Structural Steel Supervisor

Job responsibilities:

• Supervise daily structural steel activities, including erection, alignment, bolting, and welding.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.
• Interpret structural drawings and oversee day-to-day project operations.
• Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently, and monitor progress against schedule.
• Ensure timely completion of installation milestones and manage worker productivity, including overtime compliance.
• Ensure all works meet project specifications and quality standards; conduct inspections and coordinate with QA/QC personnel.
• Maintain site reports, records of inspections, permits, and work completion; report issues or delays to management.
• Enforce site safety rules, conduct toolbox meetings, identify hazards, and promote a strong safety culture in line with company standards.
• Check delivery, storage, and handling of materials, and coordinate use of cranes and lifting equipment.
• Lead, guide, and train steel erectors, welders, and riggers while ensuring discipline and productivity.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management or superiors.

Requirements:

• Diploma or certification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction or vocational training cert.
• Proven experience in structural steel works in building construction.
• Strong knowledge of steel erection, welding, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
