Purchasing Officer

About the role

You will be responsible for efficiently sourcing, negotiating and managing the acquisition of materials, goods and services to support our organisation's ongoing operations and strategic growth initiatives.

1. Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify purchasing requirements and establish procurement plans
2. Research and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions to secure the best value for money
3. Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and goods
4. Maintain detailed records of all purchasing activities and expenditure
5. Collaborate with the logistics team to manage inventory levels, minimising stock-outs and overstocking
6. Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and implement cost-saving measures
7. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
2. Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
3. Excellent organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
4. Proficient in data analysis and report generation to support informed decision-making
