VP of Business Development - Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation

This role will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to develop and execute sales & trading strategies, developing new products and contribute client onboarding across asia pacific and the east asia region. It is also important to maintain close communication with the HO in Japan and formulate strategies that are in line with company-wide strategies.

• Develop and execute sales & trading strategies to maximize reach to our clients while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work on the development of new products, and prioritizing key workstreams in order to fuel business growth for the Global Markets & Treasury Department in the region.
• Support the client onboarding process, to ensure efficient and effective onboarding of new clients.
• Collaborate with other departments within the bank to ensure alignment and integration of strategies and processes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with various parties and departments [sales, traders, management, risk control, back office, IT etc] for issues and implement solutions

• Bachelor or more degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• 8 + years of experience in sales & trading strategy, risk governance, and/or client onboarding.
• Strong knowledge of FX and Fixed Income products .
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales & trading strategies.
• Strong understanding of risk governance and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent networker who is comfortable liaising with sales, traders.
• Proficiency in Japanese language preferred for regular communication with the head office in Japan.
