Subject Head, Mathematics
Guided by the Head of Department, Mathematics, you will provide strategic curriculum leadership, with a specific focus on the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or relevant pre-university frameworks. You will drive the customization of pedagogy and assessment to ensure academic rigor is integrated with the sports aspirations of our student-athletes. This includes:
- Strategic Leadership: Driving a shared learning vision and setting clear educational goals for the team in alignment with departmental priorities and IB standards and practices;
- IB Curriculum Directorship: Leading the end-to-end planning and evaluation of the Mathematics curriculum, ensuring all school-based curricula meet the requirements of the IB Mathematical Studies/Applications/Analysis pathways;
- Systems Oversight: Establishing a robust framework for monitoring instructional quality and ensuring internal assessments (IAs) and coursework meet international moderation standards;
- Personnel Management: Taking accountability for the professional conduct and performance of the team, while nurturing a climate of integrity and well-being; and
- Change Management: Leading the team through curriculum shifts and innovations to ensure the department remains future-ready and globally competitive.
Senior Teacher, Mathematics
Guided by the Head of Department, Mathematics and School Staff Developer, you will be a master practitioner and a catalyst for a mentoring culture. You will elevate teaching standards across the school by championing IB-specific pedagogical strategies.
This includes:
- PLC Leadership: Leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to drive collaborative inquiry and action research, focusing on the effective integration of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills within the Mathematics classroom;
- IB Pedagogical Mentorship: Modeling mastery in inquiry-based learning and providing structured guidance to teachers on incorporating Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and "International Mindedness" into Mathematics;
- Assessment Innovation: Designing school-wide assessment strategies and monitoring frameworks that prepare student-athletes for the rigors of external IB examinations;
- Network Building: Promoting professional networks within the school to share best practices in curriculum initiatives and teacher-led workshops; and
- Stakeholder Partnerships: Fostering strong collaborations with parents and community partners to enhance school-wide programs and support the holistic outcomes of the IB learner profile.
Teacher, Mathematics
You will be responsible for the frontline teaching and mentoring of our student-athletes, participating in curriculum design that resonates with a high-performance sports culture. This includes:
- Instructional Excellence: Delivering engaging, student-centric lessons that adapt to the unique schedules of student-athletes;
- Learning Environment: Establishing an empowering classroom atmosphere that motivates athletes to become self-directed learners;
- Assessment & Feedback: Designing varied assessment modes and providing timely feedback to bridge learning gaps;
- Holistic Development: Contributing to pastoral care and guidance programmes to instill core values and socio-emotional competencies; and
- Rapport Building: Creating a supportive culture built on mutual trust with student-athletes to support their dual-career demands.
- Professional teaching qualifications, such as the Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education, or other similar qualifications
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in pre-university institution or secondary school
- Preferably an Honours degree or a good undergraduate degree in Mathematics
- Experience in pre-university and/or International Baccalaureate Diploma programme is an advantage
- Demonstrates effective, engaging and well-paced lessons by flexibly adopting a wide range of teaching techniques appropriate for a specific subject or learner profile
- (For Subject Head/ Senior Teacher, Mathematics position) At least 5 years of teaching and leadership experience in secondary school or pre-university institutions. Applicants who are currently holding the position of Subject Head and Senior Teacher will be an advantage
- Interest in sports preferred
